Energy-Related Sustainable Development Goals 13- Climate action
This goal aims to combat and its impacts – drought, floods, cyclones, etc. – which directly threaten communities and weaken them indirectly by destroying agricultural production.
To this end, it calls on developed countries to help their developing counterparts so that at-risk communities are better protected.
Example of action:
The creation of the United Nations (U.N.) Green Climate Fund. This vehicle facilitates funds transfers from the most advanced to the most vulnerable countries so that they can implement projects aimed at countering climate change.
This goal also focuses on improved education and awareness so that everyone can adopt more ecofriendly habits.
Example:
French high-school students elect “eco-delegates” whose mission is to engage all students in the fight against climate change.
