Growing Greens Underground

Thirty-three meters below the streets of London, Growing Underground has transformed a former World War II air-raid shelter into an underground farm that produces some ten varieties of herbs and leafy greens. Harnessing precision agriculture techniques to control all heat- and humidity-related factors, the startup grows its crops in wide trays that are fed by mineral-rich water and lit using LED lamps.
