Energy in All Its Forms

Primary energy refers to natural energy “sources”, including fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, and low-carbon energy sources such as nuclear and renewable energy that emit little-to-no CO2. Renewable energy comes from sources like hydro, solar, wind, geothermal, biomass and waste, and have the advantage of never running out. Primary energy sources are converted into secondary energy and energy carriers, which are easier for humans to use. Examples include electricity, heat, fuel and hydrogen.
