First Round-The-World Solar Flight

Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg, the two Swiss pilots who designed the Solar Impulse 2, are facing the unprecedented challenge of attempting a round-the-world flight in 10 stages over five months, with some legs of the journey lasting more than five days and five nights. Powered by solar panels covering a surface of 270 square meters, the Solar Impulse 2 has a wingspan larger than that of a Boeing 747 but the same weight as a big car.
