Conventional Biofuel Production Methods

To produce bioethanol (gas) and biodiesel (diesel), we currently use plants containing a high percentage of sugar (beet or sugarcane), starch (such as wheat and corn) or oil (such as rapeseed, sunflower, soybean and oil palm). Scientists are now working to develop advanced biofuels that will compete less with food crops.
