Global Wind Power Generation
Wind power generation continued on its upward trajectory in 2019, rising by 12.6%, the same rate as in 2018. Growth slowed in China and India, the two countries previously fueling the boom, but the slack was picked up by Europe, particularly France (up 22.8%), and by Latin America (up 20%), mainly thanks to Brazil and Mexico. France has launched several major offshore wind projects, which should drive further strong growth.
