Global Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation

Solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation soared by nearly 25% between 2018 and 2019, in line with the strong growth seen in previous years. Solar accounted for 2.7% of world power generation in 2019 compared with 2.2% in 2018. The boom continued to be driven by China and India. In Europe, Spain and France added capacity at the fastest pace, while Germany started to lag behind. Australia posted a record increase of over 46%.
