The world's largest company by revenue is the U.S. retail giant Walmart.
The list doesn't include all of the state-owned oil companies, some of which rank among the world's leading oil and gas producers: Saudi Aramco, National Iranian Oil Company, Kuwait Petroleum Company, Qatar Petroleum, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Iraqi Ministry of Oil and Sonatrach (Algeria).
Forbes magazine publishes an annual list of the 20 biggest oil companies based on production volume.2 The top ten in 2013 were:
- Saudi Aramco (12,7 Mboe/day)
- Gazprom (8,1 Mboe/day)
- National Iranian Oil Company (6,1 Mboe/day)
- Exxon Mobil (5,3 Mboe/day)
- Rosneft (4,6 Mboe/day)
- Royal Dutch Shell (4 Mboe/day)
- PetroChina (3,9 Mboe/day)
- Pemex (Mexique) (3,6 Mboe/day)
- Chevron (3,5 Mboe/day)
- Kuwait Petroleum Company (3,4 Mboe/day)
