Overview
Follow Blandine and Elodie along the Energy Route
Travel all over the world through photos, commentaries and 3D animation to find out all about the most remarkable constructions and initiatives in the energy world. Follow in the footsteps of Blandine and Elodie and go on a voyage of discovery... of the world of energy!
Fasten your seatbelts and off we go!
At each stage of the trip, you will encounter local music, pictures of the region, expert opinions, 3D animation on each topic and, of course, your two enthusiastic guides, Blandine and Elodie.
First stop, California.
While moving through the high tech sunflower field at Kramer Junction, Elodie and Blandine tell us all about thermodynamic solar power.
Next stop Brazil, where the huge Itaipu dam over the Rio Paraná converts the kinetic energy of water into electricity.
Catch your breath and dress up warm, because our next stop is Utsira in Norway, where a 100% clean energy chain combines wind energy and fuel cells to produce electricity around the clock.
Off the coast of Angola, the Dalia oil barge, a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, produces oil while polluting less by reducing methane and carbon emissions.
Further south, in South Africa, we look at coal extraction in the Dorstfontein mine.
A giant step across the ocean and we're on another continent. An engineer in New Delhi may have found the solution to bring light to the most disadvantaged with Mighty Light, a portable lamp, which gets its electricity from its own solar collector.
In China, the principal of Sun College in Hong Kong does his bit for environmentalism by encouraging students and teachers to save energy. A real success!
Finally, did you know that in Japan, geothermal power is known as magma blossom? Converting the earth's heat into electricity has its poetic side too and this is where our journey ends... Unless you'd like to do it all again?
