Thinking green on a small scale every day is just as important as individual or collective choices in the construction and transportation fields. This means that it is possible to live, work, play, and travel using less energy, while enjoying all the convenience of the latest technologies.

After World War II, European countries based their economic model on the use of fossil fuels, which at the time were plentiful and cheap, opening the way to three decades of post-war economic growth.

This model was shaken by the oil shock of 1973, followed by another in 1979, and the West started to become aware of its dependence on oil, a non-renewable energy source. Later, in the 1990s, new environmental issues came to light. The threat of global warming meant that we had to rethink how we used energy and prioritize energy savings.
