Energy Statistics

Energy is necessary for the development of society; it is present in all areas of everyday life, as well as economic transactions, and public policy. In order to produce, transport, distribute, sell, buy or consume it, energy is quantified in terms of suitable units of measurement.

The price of energy is partly determined by the price of crude oil.  Since this energy source is the most widely used worldwide, its pricing reflects the ratio between energy supply and demand at global level. It can therefore serve as a reference.

Energy pricing

The price of energy resources varies according to a wide variety of factors: trends in supply and demand, production capacity and costs, the status of global crude reserves, OPEC's production policy and geopolitical factors.

Units of energy measurement

To quantify energy and energy feedstock, specific units of measurement are used in both everyday life and commercial transactions.
