Why is half of the oil consumed worldwide transported by sea? Which consequences do we have to face in case of a black tide? How can we regain natural balance afterwards?
Find the answers to these questions and more on the website of Cedre, in collaboration with Planète Energies.
Oil that is not recovered at sea or on the foreshore remains in the environment forever.
False. The oil is broken down over a number of years. Work has shown that the areas most seriously affected by a major oil spill typically regain a balance comparable to that of surrounding areas within a time period ranging from 2 years for the least sensitive sites to 25 years for the most sensitive.
